Dr Atef Elshabrawy occupied top positions in the different sectors of social & economic ecosystem: government, Banks, Social Funds, NGO's, academic & Research Centers. Founder-CEO of Family Bank-Bahrain (1st social bank in the Middle East), advisor to the Ministry of Development in Bahrain, General Manager in Bahrain Development Bank, Director in Social Fund for Development in Egypt, advisor to Centennial Fund in KSA, Global Expert-MENA region at ICSB, and CEO-founder of www.socialinnovationexpert.com. He provided advisory services to tens of Ministries of Trade, Social Affairs, Industry and Planning in the MENA region, and organizations like: UNDP, UNFPA, UNIDO, UNESCO, IFC, Family foundations, NGO's, Federation of GCC Chamber of Commerce, in Gulf countries, etc.

Dr Atef engaged in several strategic projects like: Bahrain Economic vision 2030, Bahrain Social Policies, Oman Social Policies, National Innovation System and National Incubation programs in Egypt, SME's Authority in Libya, Youth Empowering body in Qatar, SME's strategy in GCC, Home-Based Laws in Bahrain, Governmental Subsidy Reform, plus short assignments in India, Bangladesh, Somaliland, Bosnia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. More, he publish 25 articles and 4 books on Incubation, Social Businesses, Poverty & NGOS" and Social & Economic Development of Muslim Societies. He got his Ph.D from L'institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL) and a D.E.A from Ecole des Mines de Nancy, France and a BSc. from Cairo University, followed by several certificates in development, finance, and innovation management from France, UK, USA, China, IFC, etc. Dr Atef was awarded by several prizes like: prize of Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for "Young Leaders", "Young Researchers" in France, and International Research Award from Bahrain.
